Melissa Moore
Melissa B. Moore has always wanted to be an Interior Designer. By age ten, she already “owned” her own Design business and was space planning for family and friends. Her second love, ballet, initially led her to major in Dance where she was selected to be Clara in the university production of “The Nutcracker.” After her first year of college, she realized her goal of becoming a prima ballerina was not likely and she changed her major to Interior Design with a minor in Art. In 2001, she earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Radford University’s College of Visual and Performing Arts.
Not forgetting her roots, Melissa served on university boards and was frequently asked to be a mentor for Interior Design students. Recognized for her interior design expertise, she has been featured as a guest speaker and spoken to many organizations on a variety of design topics. In 2004, Melissa moved to the Lowcountry where she has continued to practice design in many different genres.
Melissa’s love of design comes from working with her clients (friends) – many of whom have referred friends and family. Melissa believes, “Design is a very personal field in which the designer will wear many hats. Among other things, the designer will also be a counselor and teacher.” Melissa loves when people invite her into their refuge and “safe place.” “I am always humbled and honored to help clients design their home and make it a sanctuary to relax, entertain, and recharge from their everyday lives. I take my clients personalities and mold it into a design for their home that reflects their style and how they will “live” in the space.”
